Busy Brains Coping Toolbox

NEW

The Busy Brains Coping Toolbox is a structured regulation toolkit designed to support children who struggle with focus, emotional regulation, and sensory overload.

Created by Megan Moran, Child Behaviour & Development Specialist, this kit is built from years of hands-on therapeutic work with children with ADHD, autism, and anxiety. It is designed for the moments that matter most: before school, during homework, after school crashes, and times of emotional overwhelm.

This is not a toy box or a random collection of fidgets. Every item serves a clear regulatory purpose and is intended to help children recognise what their body needs and respond appropriately using movement, pressure, or tactile input.

Used consistently, the Coping Toolbox helps children:

  • regain calm without adult escalation

  • improve focus during structured tasks

  • reduce emotional overload

  • build independence in self-regulation

Suitable for use at home, in school, or in therapy settings, the Coping Toolbox supports children to feel more in control of their bodies and more confident in themselves.

What’s included

The Toolbox contains 7 CE-certified sensory and regulation tools, selected to support different regulation needs, including:

  • grounding pressure

  • quiet tactile input

  • safe movement-based release

  • time awareness and task engagement

A printed parent guide is included, outlining when and how to use each tool effectively. This guide removes guesswork and helps adults support regulation in a calm, consistent way, rather than reacting in the moment.

The Toolbox comes in a clear, portable case so it can be easily used across settings.
