About Busy Brains

Children are endlessly fascinating. Behaviour even more so.

If you've found your way here, something has probably brought you. Maybe your child is struggling in ways that are hard to put into words. Maybe you've been given advice that doesn't quite fit. Maybe you're exhausted from trying everything and still feeling like you're missing a piece of the puzzle.

Whatever brought you here — welcome. You're in good company.

Who I am

I'm Megan, a Child Behaviour and Emotional Regulation Support Specialist, and honestly? I love this work. I find children genuinely fascinating — the way they think, the way they respond to the world, the way behaviour tells a story if you know how to read it.

Busy Brains is where that passion lives. It's a space built for families who want real answers, practical tools, and support that actually makes sense for their child and their life.

Why I created Busy Brains

I've always been drawn to the why behind behaviour. Not just what a child is doing, but what's driving it, what's keeping it going, and what might actually help.

When I started working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders, something became very clear very quickly — the gap between what these children needed and what was actually available to them was enormous. The services weren't there. The products weren't there. And the bridge between therapy and real life — home, school, the everyday — was missing almost entirely.

So I started building it. I was developing strategies that actually worked for these children, and I needed tools that matched — things families and educators could use to carry that work beyond the therapy room and into daily life. Busy Brains grew out of that need.

Families deserve support that reflects how genuinely complex their children are — not a quick fix or a label that doesn't quite fit. This is my attempt to do that properly.

How I think about behaviour

Every child is different, and so is every family. I look at the full picture — development, environment, regulation, individual needs, and the dynamics around the child — to understand what's really going on.

Rather than jumping to conclusions or applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I take the time to understand what's driving what you're seeing, and help you respond in ways that are realistic, consistent, and genuinely useful.

For the parents reading this

Parenting a child who is struggling is hard. Even when you're doing everything right — especially then, sometimes.

You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. You just need to feel like something isn't quite right, and want some help making sense of it. That's enough.

Let's get into it

Whether you're looking for one-to-one support, practical tools, or just a clearer picture of what's going on for your child — I'd love to help. Have a look at how I work, or drop me a message. I'm always happy to chat.
